I hope you are not afraid of Grizzly bears. If so this may not be the hike for you. If you are up for the challenge then this has to be one of the most gorgeous hikes in Alaska, as you fight your way through the bear filled woods. Interacting or avoiding bears is just part of the Alaska experience. Be prepared. Yes, bear spray is a must in these parts. This hike is best for the fall colours in early autumn. The tundra is bright red in August or September on this 36.2 mile voyage through the best of what scenic Alaska has to offer. Views of Denali in the distance make this hiking trail one of the best in the United States.
